Light Pollution Filters 1.25” and 2” Light Pollution Filters 1.25” and 2”
These contrast-enhancing anodized aluminium, optical glass filters are designed to block out the wavelengths of light emitted by mercury-vapour light and other common causes of light pollution, whilst providing higher transmission at critical hydrogen-alpha and hydrogen-beta lines than competing filters. Bright, light-polluted skies appear much darker, and the contrast between object and sky is improved significantly. This contrast-enhancement effect is particularly apparent on nebulae. Unlike stars, emission nebulae give off light in a very narrow range of wavelengths. These filters allow maximum transmission of the important wavelengths of H-alpha, H-beta and doubly ionized oxygen – the ones most commonly emitted by nebulae. Views of galaxies and star clusters are also enhanced, but to a lesser degree. Also improves contrast on reddish planetary detail. Works well in telescopes of all apertures but is highly recommended for use on smaller telescopes up to 114mm diameter, where conventional filters swallow up too much light. Available in two sizes, threaded to fit either standard 1.25” or 2” astronomical eyepieces. Supplied with storage case.

Variable Polarising Filters 1.25” and 2” Variable Polarising Filters 1.25” and 2”
These high quality anodized aluminium, optical glass variable polarising filters reduce the amount of light entering your eyepiece. You can progressively dim the view when observing a bright object, such as the Moon or certain planets, to a level according to your needs, whilst increasing contrast, reducing glare and increasing the amount of detail that can be studied. The light transmission can be varied from 40% down to as little as 1%. The filter will not change the colour of the object being viewed and will prevent eye fatigue and loss of night vision. Each filter set consists of two polarizing filters, one which can be rotated in its cell to adjust the brightness. The filters, used as single elements, can also be used for daytime terrestrial use for reducing sunlight glare from lakes oceans or window glass. Available in two sizes, threaded to fit either standard 1.25” or 2” astronomical eyepieces. Supplied with storage case.

Baader Fringe Killer Filter 31.7mm Baader Fringe Killer Filter 31.7mm
The BAADER Fringe-Killer Filter minimizes unwanted blue fringing, comparable to a Minus-Violet-Filter, while retaining a very pleasing color balance. This would be a contradiction in itself ? only made possible by applying modern DWDM plasma assisted coating technology, allowing almost a hundred coating layers to be accumulated onto a planoptically polished substrate ? without destroying the optical figure! This fineoptical tool will help a small refractor to really put the advertized magnification within reach. Performance rivals that of the most expensive color correcting lens systems, costing 20 times as much!

Colour Filter Set 10 - 31.7mm Colour Filter Set 10 - 31.7mm
Kit includes: 21, 80A, #15, Polarizing filters

Celestron color filters are mounted in black anodized aluminum cells with the Kodak Wratten Series Number individually engraved, and come available in 4 assorted kits packed in plastic cases. The cells of each filter are double-threaded, so they can be stacked (piggybacked) in various combinations. This allows you to create different color combinations and transmission characteristics, or to have the same color characteristic, but with a lower transmission. When stacking color filters, the effective transmission of the combination you create is equal to the product of the spectral transmission of each of the filters used.

Eyepiece filters are an invaluable aid in lunar and planetary observing. They reduce glare and light scattering, increase contrast through selective filtration, increase definition and resolution, reduce irradiation and lessen eye fatigue. Celestron's filters are made of high quality, solid plane parallel glass with excellent homogeneity. They're anti-reflection coated to prevent glaring and ghosting. All eyepiece filters are threaded to fit Celestron's, and most other manufacturer's, 1?" eyepieces, and offer a full 26mm clear aperture.

93608 Polarizing Filterset 31.7mm 93608 Polarizing Filterset 31.7mm
This set of two polarizer filters reduces reflected polarized light in the Earth's atmosphere.

Also helpful for splitting binary stars by reducing glare and diffraction around the brighter star of the binary pair. On moon and planets it is invaluable for reducing irradiation and glare.

The effectiveness of the filters depends on several factors, including: the aperture and focal length of the telescope, the magnification being used, and seeing conditions.

Ambient daylight is normally comprised of multiple wavelengths of light, vibrating in multiple planes. The Eyepiece Polarizing Filter Set transmits only light moving along a specific plane, thereby increasing the contrast between surfaces with different planar transmissions. Generally, the polarization effect makes blue skies a deeper blue, eliminates surface reflections and helps reduce atmospheric haze.

The Polarizing Filter Set is intended for visual use. It`s particularly useful for reducing glare while observing the moon, double stars, the planets and terrestrial subjects ? all without affecting the color of the object being observed.

The Filter Set is comprised of two filters that thread into either the eyepiece or the filter adapter, which comes with the set. When one filter is used alone, you get 30% light transmission. When both filters are used together, you can vary the degree of transmission. By causing the amount of transmitted light to vary, the filters become, in effect, a continuously variable neutral density filter. At maximum density, the Polarizing Filter Set transmits only 5% of entering light.
